A multi-fandom female character project marking my 300th vid and probably my final work of the year/decade.

I finished it by the end of the year! Just barely. I was scared that it would get put off until next year because I'd been so demotivated to work on it.
Again, this is "officially" #300, but not technically because there was a time that I didn't keep good records on everything that I made.

For this vid I tried going through everything that I own on DVD and picking out the action films, and then adding in a couple non-licensed toku for good measure.
I actually couldn't use as much Marvel as I wanted because a bunch of my copies are blu-ray only, which I can't rip with my computer. It's still not all my action films either because I tried to just pick impressive/iconic stuff or my favorites. And I made a rule of no face covering superhero outfits in order to detract me from using tokusatsu, but it's still pretty toku heavy.

So I've got a bit of a story as to how this vid came to be. This has been on my list of songs to vid for a while now, but it was originally just gonna be on evil Power Rangers, which is why it sat so long because that's pretty generic. Later I decided that I only wanted to focus on women, which narrowed things down, but I also wanted multi-episode arcs. That left me with pretty much nothing.
I started thinking about how many men in toku get entire story arcs around being evil and just how little women get the same treatment. Then I took a look at my entire DVD collection and I still couldn't find as many female examples as there are male examples in Power Rangers alone! So this vid suddenly got super personal towards Hollywood and their treatment of male VS female protagonists/heroes.

I contemplated using Cordelia instead of Faith, because Cordelia is credited higher on Buffy/Angel, but decided against it for two reasons. One, I already had one pregnancy story arc and didn't really want another; and two, Faith is a slayer, which fits the heroine model a bit better than Cordelia.

Eat your heart out, Army of Girl. This vid has way more girl, and a lot more power.

I actually had no idea that I had reached exactly 100 girls until I counted the finished project. Bonus points for whomever finds them all. (Counting Magiranger's Nai & Mae and the different Sarah Connor/Sister Nicci separately is cheating.)
