jenndubya: kitty! (SS / Marvelous)

I'm a bit late on this, but I wanted to make sure I didn't sneak any other vids out before the 31st. Plus, Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu was eating up all my time.

My favorite video this year:
This is really tough because I didn't get a chance to start editing my really big video idea in 2018 (not that I didn't have "big" videos at all), but I would probably go with Daylight. There are a couple others that are a close runner up, like Woman and Senshi, but something about Daylight just puts it above everything else.

My least favorite video this year:
Honestly, I'm picking Mean just for the subject matter alone. I like stepping out of my comfort zone and vidding things that I don't necessarily care for every once in a while but, unlike other times where I've done it, I have a really hard time enjoying it. It's not that I made it sloppy or anything, it's just that show.

Most successful video:
I can't really judge by views because half of these vids are unlisted on YouTube (TOEI gave me two strikes years ago and so I no longer make purely SS/KR vids public) but How We Do It does have over 2000 views.
Going by my personal success scale though, probably either Senshi or Daylight. The former because I was able to work in every single Pink Ranger in Super Sentai history. The latter because the song itself is about an unhealthy relationship, but with some song snipping here and there, and just the right video editing, I put together a good vid to bring out the feels.

Video most underappreciated:
Probably Senshi. Which is sad because I'm pretty sure it's the one that I put the most work into this year. Everyone go watch Senshi. It's got every single Pink Ranger from Super Sentai so you know you want to.

Most fun to make:
You know, I could take the easy route and just say Crackusatsu 3 and be done with it. However, being honest, it's probably the combination of Gorgeous and Beautiful. (Because I was kinda working on them in tandem, storyboarding one while editing the other.)

Video with the single sexiest/most bad ass moment:
You know I love my girls doing scorpion kicks, so I want to say that section from Woman. However, I think I like the cartwheel section of that vid much more.
Also: Kagura as Blue with the Form Trigger. As well as the moment that follows.

Biggest vid fail:
Reusing a vid title. I know it's been over ten years since I used it, and I've reused titles before, but never in the same fandom! Also, the last time I did it was also over ten years ago to a vid that had been lost to a dead hard drive.

Hardest video to make:
Honestly, either Senshi or Mean. Senshi because of how much I had to comb through clip shows for footage from seasons that I haven't seen. Mean because it's a Jetman vid that isn't just Kaori being awesome.

Most unintentionally telling video:
I made a vid to a ship that I cannot stand. You can't learn anything about me this year.

The things I've learned this year:
- Every Pink Ranger is LGBT. Every single one.
- Someone needs to stop me before I make a million Jetman vids and drive myself insane.

In 2018:
- I didn't keep my one vid a month average. Instead, I dropped down to 10 vids this year. :'(
- I didn't vid anything non-toku related. That's a first for this entire decade! (And not really a good thing.)
- I vidded more Kamen Rider like I wanted. I will dedicate Daylight to my past self writing the 2017 post.
- I made vids for shows that I had never made solo vids for prior. Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, Kamen Rider Build and Ressha Sentai Toqger had all never been the sole source in a vid prior to 2018.

In 2019:
- Don't drop my vid average again.
- Make a female White Ranger vid, and possibly a female Blue Ranger vid.
- Bringing this back from last year because I didn't do it: Make at least one vid for a source that is not a toku.
- Get to work on this giant, multi-fandom vid that is in the process of being storyboarded.
